Terms of use

Plain rules for using Nagarik Palika and Sajilo Kanun. Please read before you dig in.

Last updated: July 2026

1. Using the site means you agree

If you’re on nagarikpalika.com (or a related domain we run), these terms apply. If they don’t sit well with you, please don’t use the site.

We may revise this page. When we do, the new text becomes the deal going forward. Checking back now and then is a good idea if you use the tools regularly.

2. What this service is

Nagarik Palika is a private, independent guide — terminology, forms, calculators, and law lookup for Nepal. It is not a government portal and has no official authority.

Reading pages here does not make us your lawyers. A lawyer–client relationship only starts if you hire an advocate separately under that advocate’s own terms (including our consultation booking flow, if you use it).

3. This is not legal advice

Glossary notes, templates, calculator results, checklists, and Sajilo Kanun answers are general information. Offices apply rules differently, and circulars change.

Before you move land, pay tax, file a case, or otherwise act on something important, confirm with primary sources and — when stakes are high — a qualified professional.

4. Accuracy and downtime

We try to keep material current, but we don’t promise every page, translation, number, or AI answer is perfect or up to date.

The site can go offline for maintenance or outages. We’re not on the hook for losses that come from downtime or from someone relying on stale content.

5. Accounts and Sajilo Kanun

Some features need a login. Give truthful details, keep your password private, and assume you’re responsible for what happens under your account.

Sajilo Kanun is for approved users. Demo requests are read by a person; we may say no. We can pause or cancel access if credentials are shared, the tool is scraped, or it’s used in other abusive ways.

6. Fair use

Don’t use the site to break the law, harass people, push malware, break into systems, or hammer our servers.

Don’t scrape, resell, or wholesale republish our writing or AI outputs for commercial products without written permission.

Feedback and demo forms should be honest. Don’t put someone else’s personal data in them without their okay.

7. Intellectual property

Our name, design, and original writing are ours (or our licensors’). Official forms and statutes belong to the public or their rightful owners; we only quote and link for reference.

You’re welcome to share links and short quotes with credit. Copying the whole glossary or law corpus without permission isn’t allowed.

8. Paid bits

Advocate consultations and any other paid features follow the price and cancellation terms shown at checkout. Consultation fees are mainly a matter between you and the advocate, unless we say otherwise at payment time.

9. Limits on liability

To the extent Nepal’s law allows, we aren’t liable for indirect or consequential losses from using the site — including decisions based on calculators, templates, or Sajilo Kanun answers.

For free informational tools, if we’re liable at all, the most we owe for a claim is what you paid us for that specific service in the prior twelve months, or NPR 1,000 if you paid nothing.

10. Privacy in short

We collect only what we need to run things: account basics, booking details, feedback, demo requests, and similar. We don’t sell personal data. We use messages and session info to reply and to improve the site.

11. Nepal law

These terms follow the laws of Nepal. Courts in Nepal have jurisdiction, unless a mandatory consumer rule says otherwise.

12. Questions

Confused about a clause? Use the contact form on the homepage and we’ll get back as soon as we can.
